These pair of trousers are, inspired by the 1930s soft and feminine look. They have a high waist and with a lot of width in the legs.                

Find your size:

The picture shows a size 40/12/8. Determine your size by measuring your waist and hip and compare the measurement to the chart on your pattern.

Fabric choice:

You can use many different kind of fabric for this version. The one on the picture is made from a lightweight wool. Similar kinds of fabric like wool/viscose, silk and soft cotton can also be used.

You will need:

  • Fabric width 140 cm
    • EU 34-48/UK 6-20/US 2-16 2,5 Mtr.
  • Fabric width 110 cm
    • EU 34-48/UK 6-20/US 2-16 2,5 Mtr.
  • Thread
  • 1 Invisible zipper. 30 cm                    .
  • Interfacing 30 cm


I recommend that you always make a muslin before you cut the fashion fabric, to make sure your finished garment will fit you perfectly. find the fitting guide here.


Cutting layouts:

Each pattern piece is marked with a capital letter. On the cutting layout plan, you’ll find the same capital letters so that you can easily see which pattern pieces to use for the view you’ve chosen.

NB! Also cut interfacing with pattern piece H & I


NB! The pattern has 1 cm seam allowances included, unless otherwise noted.


1.    Cut all the pieces in fabric and interfacing.

2.    Press interfacing on pattern piece H & I.

3.    Sew the darts on the back, with right sides together.

4.    Finish all raw edges.

5.    Sew the zipper in left side seam.

6.    Sew the rest of the left side seam together, with right sides together.

7.    Sew the right side seam, right sides together.

8.    Sew the inner seam of both right and left leg, with right sides together. Split all seams open

9.  Sew the crotch, with right sides together.

10. Sew the facing together in the right side, with right sides together.

11. Hem the pants (4 cm is added for hem)

12. Sew the facing to the waist of the trousers, with right sides together.

13. Under stitch the facing and clip notches to the seam allowance.

14. Place facing and pants with right sides together, and sew the ends together, by the zipper.

15. Turn the corners by the zipper and press nicely.
