Make No. 17 into a vest
I often have a small piece of fabric left from a sewing project, and this guide is perfect for those small pieces.
1. you only need pattern piece A and B
remove 1 cm from shoulder width on both front and back
Make the overlap on front 1,5 cm – therefore drew a parallel line 2,5 cm from the CF line, that will include 1 cm seam allowance
2. Make the strap for back
½ Waits Measurement CB + 10 cm
Mirror the piece and ad 1 cm seam allowance.
Cut
2 x front piece in fabric
2 x front piece in lining
2 x back piece in lining
2 x strap in lining
Sew
All darts on both lining and fabric pieces
Sew the two straps with right sides together, turn and press.
Place the straps on top of one back piece in the waistline.
Sew the two fabric front piece together with the back piece with the straps, in the side seams and shoulder seams
Sew the front lining pieces together with the other lining back piece, in the side seams and shoulder seams
Press all seams open
Sew the west together with right sides together and leave an opening in the bottom to turn the vest trough – see a video here on how to
Press the vest
