To much fabric at armscye
Pin away extra fabric.
Mark your pins, with a pen, and draw lines on the muslin with a ruler. This is the easiest way to see how much fabric to removed from the pattern.
1. Work With The Front Piece, Side Piece, Front Sleeve, And Sleeve Facing.
Transfer all the lines from the sample to the paper pattern. Do it by measuring on the muslin and track the lines on to the pattern. The new lines are red, as illustrated below.
The lines stop at the bust notch. Make a check measurement on the two lines; they have to be the same length.
NB! Remove the same at the sleeve as on the front piece (not the side piece), so the sleeve still fits.
2. Adjust sleeve facing.
Place the facing on top of the sidepiece. It fits in the sewing line. Transfer the new line.
Place the facing on top of the front piece, it fits in the sewing line. Transfer the new line.
The red lines are the new lines.
Now cut the red lines on both front, side and sleeve piece, Work With The Front Piece, Side Piece, Front Sleeve, And Sleeve Facing. Thrown out the shaded pieces.
Tape the two sleeve facing parts together again in the cut lines.
3. Finish the pattern pieces
Make a grainline and name the pattern.
