Recommendations for fabrics and series

Here it is again, the beautiful dress I showed yesterday. We call it "Señorita", and it's just one of our existing patterns with a different neckline and a different type of skirt - can you guess which pattern? Perhaps the name gives a hint as to which patterns to look for. The guide is coming on Monday!

I was inspired to make this dress after watching the series 'The Marvelous Mrs Maisel' - if you haven't seen it, do so. The story is good, the clothes are fantastic, and the characters are sweet, funny and comical. I have now watched the series twice. The first time I saw it, I was primarily involved in the story and the characters; the second time, the clothes filled my consciousness a little more. But all in all a fantastic series.

It's something I often do - that is, I watch series or films twice if there are some great clothes in the series. Then I see it once just for inspiration for clothes, shapes and other delicious things. You can get a few series recommendations that I have loved to see because of the fantastic clothes:

- The Marvelous Mrs Maisel

- The Queen's Gambit

- A place to call home

- The Crown

Well, back to the dress.

Should this dress have caught your attention, I have a few suggestions for fabric from our fabric store, House of Fabrics.

I have found three different kinds of cotton, as I think it suits this model very well.

I also plan to make it in thin wool for winter - I think it will be very chic and fun at the same time. Maybe in this classic pinstripe wool, the fun comes in the shape of the dress.

The fabric from left to right

Kosmos - 100% cotton SE HER

Hvide prikker - 100% cotton - SE HER

Gul Pergola - 97% cotton, 3% elestan - SE HER

Merine strib - 100% wool - SE HER

Sadly, right now we only send fabric to Sweden, Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands. We’re working on adding more countries to the list. If you’re from another country than the ones listed above and you’ve found something you like, don’t hesitate to get in touch and we will look at the possibilities.

The fabric I made for myself is from my private stash of fabric. But having seen the series I mentioned above, I knew this was the one to use.
