A classic ankel lenght half cirkel skirt with a waistband, slanted pockets with pocket flaps and cut line details in the side.


Fabric choice:

Light to medium weight woven fabric. Cotton, Silk, Wool, Viscose, Cupro, Linen or Polyester The final look of the garment will depend on the type of fabric you choose. Not suitable for jersey.

Fitting:

We recommend that you always make a muslin before you cut the fashion fabric, to make sure your finished style will fit you perfectly.


Cutting Fabric


On each pattern piece, you will find a capital letter. On the cutting layout plan, you will find the same capital letters so that you can easily see which pattern pieces to use for the view you have chosen.

YOU WILL NEED THE FOLLOWING PATTERN PIECES:

Sewing


NB! The Pattern Has 1 Cm Seam Allowances Included Unless Otherwise Noted.

  1. Cut all your pieces in fabric and interfacing as needed. !NOTE! Cut Patter piece (A) 1x on fold and cut (A)  2 x times, not on fold. 

  2. Press the interfacing to the waistband (e), and a piece of stay tape in the pocket fold on the front (A). Place the stay tape between the notch on the waistline and the notch on the hip.

3. Overlock  

  • The slanted seams on the front and back (B)  

  • The longest on the side panel. 

4. Place the side panel (B) on the slanted sides on the front and on the back (A) with right sides together, and sew them together. 

5. Press the seams open 

6. Place a pocket bag to the front, right sides together and sew from notch to notch. This will be your pocket flap and one of the pocket bags.

7. Turn and press the flap. If necessary, clip a notch to the seam to release the seam allowance. 

8. Fold the pocket bag in the fold line, right sides together.

9. Sew the two pocket bags together 

10. Overlock 

  • The pocket bag 

  • Side seams, back and front. 

  • Centre back seams 

11. Sew the side seams, right sides together. Press seams open and fold the pocket flap down

12. Finish the seam of one side of the waistband. I do it with a bias tape alternatively you can overlock it. 

13. Place the raw edge of the waistband, to the waist of the skirt, right sides together. 

14. Sew the waistband to the skirt and press the seam upwards. 

Sew the invisible zipper in. Se a video 

15. Place the right side of the zipper along the edge of the centre back. Place the first teeth of the zipper at the same height as the notch in the waistband. 

16. Baste stitch the zipper to the skirt 

17. Flip the teeth of the zipper aside and sew the zipper in place. 

18. Sew the centre back seam below the zipper. 

19. Press seam open and press gently on the zipper. 

20. Open the zipper and fold the waistband around the zipper.  Stitch as close as possible to the zipper as possible, sandwiched between the skirt and waistband, making sure to catch the extra zipper in the seam.

21. Turn the waistband to the right side, so the zipper is placed in between the layers of the folded waistband.  Press the waistband.

22. Finish the waistband by stitching in the ditch from the right side of the skirt.
