A New Tradition – sewing Pattern of the Month

Starting this October, I’m introducing something new: sewing Pattern of the Month.

And for the very first month, it is No. 11 Malmö – available with 30% off in both PDF and print.

There are patterns you return to again and again. For me, No. 11 Malmö is exactly that – one of my absolute favourite skirts. I love its silhouette, its clean lines, and the way it embraces the body. But perhaps most of all, I love the pockets and the small details that lift it from classic to truly special.

No. 11 Malmö has been part of How To Do Fashion for many years. The very first version came without pockets, but as the demand for them grew, I re-released the pattern in an updated version. It quickly became a success. The pockets give the skirt a unique balance – elegant, yet with just the right touch of coolness.

Malmö is a pencil skirt – fitted and elegant, but not unforgiving. It leaves space for the body as it is, which is precisely what I appreciate about it.

For me, No. 11 Malmö has become the perfect autumn and winter skirt. On mild days I wear it with bare legs, and when the cold sets in, I find it most beautiful styled with tall boots. It works both ways, and perhaps that’s why I keep returning to it.

Throughout October, Malmö is Pattern of the Month. You’ll get 30% off No. 11 Malmö, both as a printed pattern and as a PDF.

Maybe this is the moment to let it move into your wardrobe – and to sew your own versions of this timeless classic.
